Applesauce is great to throw in a quick packed lunch for the kids, but have you ever considered making it yourself? If you haven't, now is the perfect time! You only need apples. Seriously. That's it. Maybe a dash of cinnamon, but I find that too much cinnamon overpowers the apples. After you try it, you'll wonder why you don't make it more often. When I lived with my sister in Texas, I would make it once a week, and it was our breakfast for the whole week. Also, it will make your entire house smell heavenly. Tip: Don't add liquid unless you want a very smooth apple sauce. If you like it chunkier, you won't need any liquid, the apples have plenty themselves.
