STYLE: The new hair look that EVERYBODY is raving about
Get ready ladies, because another hair trend is coming your way, and it's know as (drumroll please) chocolate mauve!
A subtle blend of glossy brown and purple highlights, this Fall-appropriate rainbow hair look has already taken the internet by storm.
The salon that appears to have set off the trend is New York City hair colorist Hannah Edelman, known as @hannahthepainter on Instagram.
So why does it work?
"Even though the color is unnatural, following the light-dark placement that occurs naturally is always a good idea," she said. "I think that's what makes this toe the line of natural and unnatural."
Hannah describes mixing the paints to get the right look: "The darkest brown started with red, yellow, and green," she said. "Then I added orange and purple and other random shit until I liked what I saw."

Looking for something indulgent? These velvety chocolate beetroot cakes will hit the spot.
INGREDIENTS
- 1.3 cups beetroot
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 4/5 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- Melted dark chocolate
METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 350° F.
- Put the beetroot, eggs, oil and lemon juice in a food processor, and blend until smooth.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour and sugar.
- Add the blended beetroot mixture, and mix until smooth.
- Add the baking powder and mix until fully incorporated.
- Pour the batter into silicone cake moulds.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until you a pick comes out clean.
- Top with melted dark chocolate, and enjoy!
