"My first food memory that really changed my idea of food was the smell of fresh garlic & anchovies going into a pan of hot extra virgin olive oil then being tossed with thin pasta. That food experience changed my life, in the best way. I was 4 years old."

Hello Eatcraft, so tell us...

When did you begin your blog, and what inspired you to start it?

I started my blog sometime 7 months ago, forgot about it & then 4 months later posted my first recipe. My inspiration to start my blog was from my friends & family. My IG family included! I will post photos of my food & email out the recipe for those who want it. They'd always end our conversation with "you should start a blog!" So here I am. Thank you guys!

Are you involved in the blogging community - how do you attract new readers?

Honestly, I don't read very many blogs, i follow some on Tumblr! I just learned how to use twitter! I'm getting more involved with social media. Right now, I'm attracting new readers through twitter and using lots of #hashtags! :)

Who are your culinary influences?

My personal culinary influences include my Grandma, Laura & My Nana, Carol. They cooked breakfast, "supper" & dinner from scratch every single day. I'd wake up to freshly made biscuits & go to sleep filled with fresh salad from the garden & fish caught the night before. Such simple delicious cooking made with so much love. I cook because of them.

If you could be a contestant or guest on any cooking show what show would you choose?

Hmm.. I'd love to be a guest on any show with Anthony Bourdain. Traveling & experiencing all different culinary cuisines! Cooking show.. I wouldn't mind being on Top Chef!

What is your earliest food memory?

I have so many food memories.. Learning to make biscuits would probably be my earliest. My first food memory that really changed my idea of food was the smell of fresh garlic & anchovies going into a pan of hot extra virgin olive oil then being tossed with thin pasta. That food experience changed my life, in the best way. I was 4 years old.

You have two adorable toddlers, how do you create meals that satisfy the different palates in your household?

I really try to encourage my sons to taste/try new recipes & ingredients. I let them help me in the kitchen while making dinner or whatever and it really gets them excited to eat! My oldest son Gavin doesn't like red meat, so for the nights we have it, I'll substitute his with fish or chicken! Also, soup. I always make soups because I can pack them with hidden fresh veggies! ;)

Is there any dish, ingredient or type of food you refuse to cook?

Not really.. I love to cook it all! I do refuse to use or eat canned tomato soup! Thanks to a not so good food memory :)

What are your family's favorite meals?

Sausage gravy with biscuits, enchiladas & soups! Those are three meals I know I can make & the whole family will enjoy every time! Including myself!

What are your goals for your blog? Where would you like to see it in the next year? Five years?

My goals are to take more time for myself and post more of my recipes. My two toddlers keep me very busy & I don't get to blog as much as I'd like to. Within the next year I plan to take my blog from tumblr and start it up again with a different blog site. I'd like to have more followers. Five years, I just hope I have time for a blog! I'd love to have a larger website & following. :)

Anything else you would like to share?

Food is love.
