South Indian Prawn Fry

Ingredients

  • Oil - 8 tbsp
  • Onion - 3 medium
  • Tomato - 1
  • Prawn - 15 (Raw - tail off - head
  • off -peeled - deviened )
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tbsp
  • Water - 2 cups
  • Coriander leaves - to garnish

Preparation

Step 1

Switch on the stove - Place the wok
Add 3 tbsp of oil - oil gets warmer
Add chopped onions - turns light brown
Add chopped tomatoes - turns translucent

Add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
Add 1/2 tbsp chilli powder
Add 1/2 tbsp cumin powder
Add 1/2 tbsp Salt
Add 2 cups of water - mixture is submerged
Simmer the stove - Close the lid for 8 min
Open the lid

Add cleaned and washed prawn - Prawn shrinks and curls - Fry well by adding 5 tbsp of
oil at high heat
Water gets absorbed completely

The gravy turns reddish orange

Once the Prawn turns light pink it is right cooked
Switch off the stove
Garnish with coriander leaves
Prawn gravy ready, enjoy the recipe :-)
