These homemade dinky donuts are delicious breakfast desserts. Fill with jelly, cream, or chocolate, and decorate with sprinkles, sugar, flavored frostings, etc.

Ingredients

  • •2 cups self-raising flour
  • •2 tablespoon melted butter
  • •2 eggs
  • •1/2 cup sugar
  • •1 cup maas
  • •1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • •1 teaspoon baking powder
  • • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Preparation

Step 1

Beat sugar and eggs together

Step 2

Sift all the dry ingredients together.
Mix wet and dry ingredients together in a mixer.

Step 3

If dough is too soft add extra flour little at a time until a sticky but manageable dough is formed.

Step 4

Knead dough into a soft manageable dough.

Step 5

Heat oil on medium-high

Step 6

Roll dough on a floured surface, cut with a donut cutter.

Step 7

Fry until golden on both sides. Drain on paper towels.

Step 8

Roll in cinnamon sugar or vanilla sugar. Or frost with preferred frosting. Decorate with colored vermicelli/ chopped nuts/ coconut or grated chocolate.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/4 cup / 50g of softened butter
  • 1 egg (divide the yolk and white)
  • 1/4 cup / 50g of sugar
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1 cup / 150g of flour
  • 1 cup / 100g of chopped nuts
  • Salted caramel
  • Melted dark chocolate

METHOD:

  1. In a bowl, mix together the butter, egg yolk, sugar, and salt.

  2. Add the flour and mix. Roll into a ball.

  3. Chill for 30 minutes.

  4. Remove from refrigerator. Divide the dough and roll into 1-inch balls.

  5. Dip each ball in egg yolk, and then roll in chopped nuts.

  6. Place on baking sheet (lined with parchment paper), and press your thumb into the center.

  7. Bake at 340°F/170°C for 12 minutes, or until golden.

  8. Remove from oven and let cool.

  9. Pour the salted caramel into the center groove,and drizzle with dark chocolate.

  10. Enjoy!
