Preparation

Step 1

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a large bowl combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt & sugar.

Step 2

Grate the cheese and combine it with the flour mixture.

Step 3

In a small bowl, beat the eggs and add the sour cream and oil until combined.

Step 4

Gradually add the "wet" ingredients to the "dry" ingredients until moistened. The dough mixture will be slightly crumbly.

Step 5

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface, or use a layer of parchment paper to knead on. Knead dough for 2-3 minutes. If it is crumbly, add a few drops of milk.

Step 6

Roll the dough to 3/4 inch thickness and use a round cookie cutter to cut into sections. If you don't have a cookie cutter, simply section the dough into small squares.

Step 7

Bake in the centre of the oven for 15 minutes. Use parchment paper on the baking sheet for quick easy cleanup.

Step 8

Let cool for 5 minutes & serve.

These scones are excellent for freezing. Simply thaw and reheat in the microwave for that just baked taste.
