Food safety is easier than it sounds. Follow these simple tips to protect yourself and those around you from germs and getting sick!

Sanitize your sponge

Bacteria thrive in warm, moist places, so it's important to sanitize your kitchen sponges frequently. To do this, you can soak the sponges for 1 minute in a quart of warm water with 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of concentrated bleach added. Alternatively, you can heat damp sponges for one minute in the microwave, which will effectively kill over 99% of bacteria!
