Ingredients
- 750 g (11/2 lbs) ground lamb
- 1 onion, very finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) ground cumin
- 10 ml (2 tsp) ground cinnamon
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) dried oregano
- 10 ml (2 tsp) salt
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) fresh bread crumbs
- freshly ground black pepper
- 1 extra large egg, beaten
- 4 crusty rolls to serve
- tomato slices, to serve
- Mint Yogurt
- 250 g (8 oz) plain yogurt
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) chopped fresh mint

Preparation
Step 1
Using your hands, work ground lamb with the chopped onion, garlic, cumin, cinnamon, oregano, salt, bread crumbs, pepper, and beaten egg. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Step 2
Preheat the grill.
Put the yogurt into a bowl and stir in the mint, then add a little salt and pepper to taste. Set aside until required.
Brush the grill rack with oil. Barbecue the burgers for about 3 minutes on each side.
Split the rolls in half and fill with the cooked burgers, tomato slices, and a spoonful of mint yogurt.
