Ingredients

  • 12 oz uncooked ziti
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 sweet onion (Vidalia), chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 jar (28 oz) spaghetti sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 carton (15 oz) ricotta cheese
  • 2 1/2 cups (10 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning

Preparation

Step 1

Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook beef, peppers, onions, and garlic over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combing the eggs, ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and the Italian seasoning. Drain pasta; add to cheese mixture and toss to coat.

Step 3

Spoon a third of the meat sauce into a greased 13x9 baking dish; top with half of the pasta mixture. Repeat layers. Top with the remaining meat sauce.

Step 4

Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese. Bake 5-10 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
