Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Bread Flour (You CAN use All-purpose)
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 2 Tsp Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Cream of Tartar
  • 2/3 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 Cup Butter, melted
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk (or 1 Cup milk + 2 Tsp white vinegar and let it set for 5-10 minutes)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450°F.

Step 2

Whisk together dry ingredients in a bowl (including the cheese) until well mixed. Then pour in the butter and buttermilk. Stir until everything is combined. Drop the dough by the (large) spoonful onto a prepared baking sheet.

Step 3

Bake for 8-12 minutes or until golden on top.

Step 4

The cheese is optional. They're amazing even without it. You could also add garlic powder to get cheesy garlic biscuits.
