Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (about 12 ounces) semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside. In another bowl, combine the butter with both sugars; mix until light and fluffy. Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs. Mix until well blended. Add flour mixture, mix until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Step 2
Drop small ball (about 1tbsp) of cookie dough onto cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart, with lined parchment paper.
Step 3
Bake until cookies are golden around the edges, but still soft in the center, about 8 to 10 minutes (oven times vary). Remove from oven, and let cool. Transfer to a wire rack or plate, and let cool completely before enjoying!
For freezing cookie dough, place 1tbsp of dough onto lined cookie sheet and place in freezer for 4 hours, then transfer into freezer bag. Store cookies for up to 3 months. To cook frozen cookie dough, add 5 additional minutes on baking time.
