Basic sponge cake

This cake is best when dressed up!! And its versatile enough for any dressing/ icing and garnish!!

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups sifted flour
- 2 tbsp mazina
- 2 1/2 tsps baking powder
- Pinch salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 5 eggs- seperated
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 tsp vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Mix the first 5 ingredients. Make a well in the center and add the egg yolks, oil and water. Beat in high until thoroughly incorporated.
Step 2
Beat egg whites with 1 tsp baking powder until stiff peaks form.
Step 3
Fold egg whites into batter.
Step 4
Pour batter into prepared pan (cupcake pan, bundt, square or round)
Tap out the bubbles from the pan.
Step 5
Make sure cake is leveled.
Bake at 325• for half an hour. Or until toothpick comes out clean.
Step 6
Cool completely before dressing or decorating.
