Quiche

Ingredients

  • 1 9" unbaked pie shell from frozen puff pastry
  • 2 tsp. butter
  • 1 large onion - chopped
  • 12 slices of bacon - chopped
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • pinch nutmeg
  • pinch pepper
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup swiss cheese - grated

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425°F.

Sauté onions in butter until soft. Fry bacon until crisp.

Step 2

Combine eggs, cream and spices. Beat until well mixed.

Step 3

Sprinkle pie shell with bacon, onions and cheese. Pour egg mixture on top carefully.

Step 4

Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 300°F and bake for about 40 minutes or until knife inserted in centre comes out clean.

Try substituting chicken for the bacon, cheddar cheese for the swiss and adding small pieces of broccoli.
