Ingredients

  • 1/3 C butter (not margarine)
  • 1 - 10 oz pkg of marshmallows
  • 6 C corn flakes
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • green food coloring
  • red hot candies

Preparation

Step 1

Lay out wax paper on counter before you start.
Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and cook, stirring constantly until completely melted.

Step 2

Remove from heat and add the vanilla and food coloring to desired color of green. Stir in corn flakes until all coated.

Step 3

Take snowball size portions of mixture and form a ball and place on wax paper. With butter lathered fingers quickly shape the ball into a wreath with a hole in the center. Place red hot candies around the wreath. Make sure you work quickly, as the marshamallow starts to set up before you can get the wreaths formed and the candies won't stick. Another set of hands works best for these. One to form the wreaths and another to set the candies in place.
Makes about 14-16 wreaths.

Step 4

Store in airtight container and layer wax paper between layers to prevent sticking.
