Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup margarine
- 1 cup brewed coffee
- 1/4 cup dark, unsweetened cocoa
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Frosting:
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 2 tbsp dark cocoa
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 1/2 cups icing sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400°.
Step 2
Mix flour and sugar together.
In a saucepan, combine butter, coffee and cocoa. Mix well and heat to boiling.
Step 3
Pour boiling mixture over flour mixture in bowl, add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Mix well.
Step 4
Pour into a well buttered pan and bake for 20 minutes, or until firm.
Step 5
To make the frosting, combine butter, cocoa, and milk in saucepan. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
Step 6
Pour warm frosting over brownies as soon as you take them out of the oven.
