Italian Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Ib ground beef
  • 1/2 Ib groundpork
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 T finely chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup warm water

Preparation

Step 1

Combine the ground beef and ground pork.

Step 2

Add garlic, egg, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt and pepper.

Step 3

Mix with clean hands or spoon to combine.

Step 4

Add the bread crumbs to the meat mixture and mix together again.

Step 5

Add the water 1/4 cup at a time and mix together. You want the mixture to be moist but not watery - it needs to hold it's meatball shape when you're done.

Step 6

Use your hands to shape the meatballs, about 1 1/2 inch in diameter.

Step 7

Place meatballs on parchment paper on cookie sheets very close together but not touching.

Step 8

Bake for 30 minutes at 425 degrees. Cook in spaghetti sauce for another 10 minutes.
