Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 4-6 slices of crustless bread, preferably sourdough
  • 12 oz. cooked, drained sausage (I prefer Jimmy Dean’s Sage)
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk (Do NOT use low fat! This will separate and make casserole watery)
  • 1 cup 1/2 and 1/2
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • dash of Tabasco
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar

Preparation

Step 1

Place bread on bottom of buttered 8×8 baking dish.

Step 2

Crumble sausage over bread.

Step 3

Beat eggs, milk, 1/2 and 1/2 together in separate bowl.

Step 4

Add mustard, salt, pepper, Tabasco and Worcestershire to egg mixture.

Step 5

Pour mixture over bread.

Step 6

Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Step 7

In morning, sprinkle cheese over top and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
