Ingredients

  • 1 pound extra lean ground beef or turkey
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green peppers, chopped
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1 can whole tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 T chili powder
  • 1 cup Tex Mex shredded cheese, divided

Preparation

Step 1

Brown meat in large skillet on medium heat. Drain. Add onions & peppers. Reduce to low; cover. Simmer 30m, stirring occasionally.

Step 2

Add beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce & chili powder; mix well. Reduce heat to low; cover. Simmer 30m, stirring occasionally.

Step 3

Sprinkle 1 T cheese onto bottom of each of 4 soup bowls; top with chili & remaining cheese.
