How to make a delicious duck at home in your oven!!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole duck
  • salt
  • pepper
  • dill
  • 1/4 cup worchestershire sauce
  • 1 can chicken broth
  • 2 large russet potatoes, diced
  • 3 large carrots, sliced
  • 1 large white or yellow onion, diced
  • 3 stalks of celery diced or sliced
  • 8 small mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup butter softened

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2

Place all your vegetables and potatoes in the roaster pan. Mix the butter, honey and worchestershire sauce and set it aside as the glaze. Season the duck with salt, pepper, and dill.

Step 3

Place the duck on top of the vegetable mix in the roaster pan and use 1/3 of the glaze mix on the duck. Place in the oven for 1 hour.

Step 4

Remove the duck from the oven and lower the temperature to 325 degrees. Score the duck and place 1/3 of the glaze on the duck. Put back in the oven for another hour.

Step 5

Remove the duck from the oven and spread the last of the glaze on the duck. Turn your oven dial to broiler and place the duck in the oven for 15 - 25 minutes.

Step 6

Allow duck to cool and serve!

Duck should be pink in the center. The meat should look smooth like turkey and that is how you can tell if it's done.
