Ingredients
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Grated peel of 1 lemon
Preparation
Step 1
Cream together shortening an sugar.
Mix in egg, water and lemon juice.
Mix baking powder, salt and flour in a separate bowl.
Mix lemon peel into dry ingredients.
Add the dry into fat mixture.
Roll dough 1/4" thick.
Cut into shapes.
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper and place cookies on tray.
Decorate with sprinkles or sugar.
Bake at 350F for 8 - 10 minutes.
