Skirt Steak Caliente

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp fresh ground pepper
  • 2 jalapenos
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1.5 lb skirt steak
  • 2 tbsp garlic
  • 15.5 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 0.25 cup cilantro

Preparation

Step 1

Mix marinade ingredients together and marinate steak. Let steak marinate for at least 4 hours in the fridge

Step 2

Heat olive oil in skillet on high heat and brown both sides of steak (about 3 minutes/side)

Step 3

Remove steak when satisfied with level of doneness. Simmer tomatoes and garlic in skillet for 2 minutes

Step 4

Slice steak into strips and serve with tomato sauce and cilantro
