Mac and cheese casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 cups macaroni, 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup flour, 3 cups milk, 2 cups sharp cheese, 1 cup bread crumbs, 1/4 cup butter, salt and pepper.

Preparation

Step 1

Cook macaroni el dente.(el dente.) about 8 minutes. Shred cheese.

Step 2

Melt 1/4 cup of butter in large frying pan. Add flour and stir until smooth. Gradually stir in milk. Heat stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Remove from heat, stir in salt and add macaroni. Stir until cheese melts. Put into a greased 8 cup casserole dish. Take the bread crumbs in a small frying pan and add 1/4 cup of butter until well coated. Put on top of casserole. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown. Salt and pepper to taste.
