Ingredients
- 1 cup Elbow Macaroni
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 4 cups Broccoli Flowerets
- 1/4 cup 1/2 stick Butter or Margarine
- 4 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
- 1 1/2 cups Milk
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- 2 1/4 cups grated Parmesan or Romano Cheese
- 2 teaspoons Dijon style Mustard
- 1 cup diced baked Ham or Prosciutto
- 1/4 cup Italians type Bread Crumbs
Preparation
Step 1
Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and rinse. Toss with oil. Spoon into large greased baking dish. While pasta is cooking prepare broccoli.
Step 2
Place broccoli in a large saucepan. Add enough water to cover. Cook broccoli over medium-high heat until tender. About 5 minutes. Drain and rinse with cool running water. Add broccoli to pasta in dish. Preheat oven to 400°.
Step 3
In another pan melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour. Cook stirring about 2 minutes. Whisk in milk and pepper. Stir in 2 cups parmesan and mustard. Fold in ham. Pour sauce over top of casserole. Mix well. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and remaining Parmesan. Bake 25 minutes or until bubbly.
