- 1 1/2 LB STEW MEAT BEEF, CUT TO 1 IN. PIECES
- 1 MED ONION, CHOPPED
- 2 TBLS VEGETABLE OIL
- 1 QT WATER
- 15 OZ TOMATO SAUCE
- 5 MED CARROTS, CUT TO 1/2 IN. PIECES
- 1 CELERY RIB, SLICED THIN
- 2 TSP SALT
- 1/2 TSP DRIED OREGANO
- 1/2 TSP PAPRICA
- 1/4 TSP PEPPER
- 2 C FRESH OR FROZEN GREEN BEANS
- 2 C FRESH OR FROZEN CORN
- 3/4 C MED. PEARL BARLEY
Preparation
Step 1
IN A SKILLET BROWN BEEF AND ONION IN OIL
DRAIN
TRANSFER TO 5 QT. SLOW COOKER
Step 2
ADD WATER,TOMATO SAUCE,CARROTS,CELERY,SALT,OREGANO,PAPRICA,AND PEPPER
COVER AND COOK ON LOW FOR 5-6 HOURS
Step 3
ADD BEANS,CORN,AND BARLEY
COVER AND COOK ON LOW FOR 2 HOURS LONGER OR UNTILTENDER
