SLOW-COOKER FAMILY FAVOURITE CHILI

Ingredients
- 2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
- 1 Large onion, chopped (1 cup)
- 2 Cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 Can (28 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 Can (16 oz) chili beans in sauce, undrained
- 1 Can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 Tablespoons chili powder
- 1 1/2 Teaspoons ground cumin
- 1/2 Teaspoon salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon pepper
Preparation
Step 1
1. In 12-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.
2. In 4- to 5-quart slow cooker, mix beef, onion and remaining ingredients.
3. Cover and cook on Low heat setting 6 to 8 hours.
Makes 8 servings (1 1/4 cups each)
Variation
Substitute half of the ground beef with ground pork to give this chili a richer flavor.
