Ingredients

  • 2c milk
  • 1c chopped pecans
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2c short-grain white rice
  • 3 medium egg yolks beaten
  • 1/3c sugar
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1t ground nutmeg and or cinnamon (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

In a large saucepan, slowly bring milk, pecans, and salt to a boil.

Step 2

Stir in rice and eggs.

Step 3

Reduce heat. Allow to simmer about 15 minutes, stirring constantly.

Step 4

When the rice is soft, add sugar and butter. Combine well and pour into a serving dish. Serve warm.
