Chicken Karaage

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. chicken thigh fillets, skin-on
  • 1 Tbsp crushed garlic
  • 1/2 Tbsp finely grated ginger
  • 3 Tbsp sake
  • 2 Tbsp shoyu
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup cornflour
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • generous sprinkle of pepper and a little salt
  • Oil for deep frying

Preparation

Step 1

Slice chicken into bite sized pieces.

Step 2

Marinate the chicken with garlic, ginger, sake, soy sauce and sesame oil for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3

Add egg, cornstarch and flour.

Step 4

Deep fry until golden brown.
