Ingredients
- For the Crust
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- For the Filling
- 1 1/2 cups Apple Butter (about 12 ounces)
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- For the Topping
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 9x13” pan with foil and spray with cooking spray
Step 2
Make the crust: add butter, flour, and sugar to a large bowl. Mix with a hand mixer until it becomes crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
Step 3
Prepare the topping. Add all ingredients to the large bowl and mix with a hand mixer until crumbly
Step 4
Remove crust from the oven. Spread the apple butter over the crust in an even layer. Sprinkle with walnuts
Step 5
Sprinkle the topping evenly over the filling and press gently to compact
Step 6
Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, until topping starts to turn golden.
Step 7
Cool completely. Cut into squares
