Homemade Spagetti Sauce

This recipe goes with the Homemade Pasta recipe. Its a classic, Jar sauce doesn't compare to it at all with flavor. Flavor should never be compromised. The special ingredient is something called Spatini spaghetti sauce mix packets. (its a seasoning). If you can't find it in the grocery store you can get it online. Or just use the spice list below instead.

Ingredients
- 6-8 pieces of Hot or Sweet Italian Sausage(you can also use 1 LB of ground beef, chicken, or turkey)
- 1 Large can of Tomato Puree
- 1 Large can of Tomato Sauce or 2-8 OZ cans
- 1 Large or 2 small can's Tomato Paste
- 1 Packet of Spatini or these spices; handful of each:
- Dry Italian seasoning, Dry Basil, Salt & Pepper
- 1-2 Sugar packets or TBS (to cut acid down)
- 1/4-1/2 C of Parmesan Cheese
Preparation
Step 1
In a large pot, brown up sausage, or ground up meat. Drain fat/oil out. Leave meat in pot. Add in all the cans of Tomato ingredients then after emptying them take each can fill with water half way and put into pot too.
Step 2
Mix all ingredients in pot, cover and cook on low-medium heat for 2 hours. If it boils its to high of temp. Stir every 1/2 hour so it doesn't burn or stick to the bottom of pot.
Step 3
When cooking time is up, shut off stove top. Add in your dry seasonings, sugar and Parmesan cheese. If you the Spatini mix read instructions on box on what to do with it. Let it sit for 1 hour then serve.
This recipe takes a lot of patience to make but its worth it. You can freeze what ever you don't use for another time.
