Ingredients

  • 3 or 4 overly ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation

Step 1

Mash bananas in large bowl. Mix melted butter into mashed bananas

Step 2

Mix in the sugars, egg, and vanilla.

Step 3

Sprinkle baking soda and salt over mixture and stir.

Step 4

Add flour a bit at a time while stirring.

Step 5

Add chopped walnuts and stir.

Step 6

Pour mixture into a buttered loaf pan.

Step 7

Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees, or until a toothpick comes out clean from center of loaf. (will be deep golden brown)

Step 8

Slice and serve.
