Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. lean ground beef, 1/2 lb. bacon, but into 1" pieces
- 1/2 C. chopped onion (onion pwd. to taste) 1 clove minced garlic (garlic powder to taste)
- 1/4 C. packed brown sugar 1/4 C. ketchup
- 2 T. molasses 1 Tsp. dry mustard
- 1 16 oz. can baked beans 1 15-1/4 oz. dark kidney beans, drained, liquid reserved
- 1-15 oz. Great Northern beans

Step 1
Preheat over to 350 degrees. Brown beef, drain fat. Set aside beef. Fry bacon. Pour off all but 1/4C. of drippings. In skillet, saute onion and garlic in drippings for 5 min. or until onion is tender. Transfer onion, garlic and drippings to a 2 quart casserole dish. Add brown sugar, ketchup, molasses, and mustard. Stir in beans, bacon, and beef. Bake for 50-6 min. or until hot and bubbly (only takes about 30 min. for me). Add reserved bean liquid if beans seem to be too dry (I've never had to do this) Serves about 6.
