A delicious combo of Italian sausage & ground beef lasagna with homemade sauce

Ingredients
- 1 lb. sweet Italian sausage
- 3/4 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 (28oz.) crushed tomatoes
- 2 (6oz.) tomato paste
- 2 (6.5 oz) tomato sauce
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 tblsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 tblsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- oven ready lasagna noodles
- 16 oz. ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 lb. mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 c. parmesan
- 9x13 baking dish
Preparation
Step 1
Cook sausage, beef, onion & garlic in pan over med-high heat til browned.
Step 2
While beef is cooking, take a large pot & stir in tomato paste, sauce & crushed with the 1/2 c. water. Add the sugar, basil, italian seasoning, 1 tblsp. salt, pepper & 2 tblsp parsley.Add cooked beer. Simmer 1 hr.
Step 3
In bowl combine ricotta, egg, remaining parsley & 1/2 tsp. salt.
Step 4
Begin to layer, starting with a thin layer of sauce, then add lasagna noodles, ricotta mixture, sauce & sprinkle some cheese. Repeat till you reach top of pan. Finish with rest of cheese scattered on top.
Step 5
Place in preheated oven @375 degrees. Cover with foil for 25 mins. Then remove foil and bake and additional 25 mins. ENJOY!
