Magas (Besan Ladoo)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups gram flour (besan)
  • 4 tbsp. semolina flour (fine sooji)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted melted butter (ghee)
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp. sliced almonds
  • 1/4 tsp. coarsely ground cardamom
  • 1 tbsp. sliced pistachios or raisins for garnish (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Mix besan, sooji, and ghee well in a pan on low heat; roast the mixture on medium heat for approximately 7-10 minutes with slight change in color.

Step 2

Cool it down and stir in powdered sugar when the mixture is still warm.

Step 3

Add sliced almonds and cardamom powder and mix well.

Step 4

Make round ladoos with hand-pressed motion

Step 5

Finally, garnish with pistachios or raisins.
