- 5 1/2 pounds of various kinds apples: peeled, cored, finely chopped
- 4 cups sugar
- 2-3 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt

Preparation
Step 1
Wash, peel, core, and finely chop apples. Add to crock pot.
Step 2
Add sugar, cinnamon, cloves and salt to apples. Stir to combine. Cover and cook on high for one hour.
Step 3
After one hour reduce heat to low and cook for 9-11 hours, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
After 9-11 hours, uncover and cook on low for one more hour.
Step 5
When done, add to storage jars and refrigerate. Can be stored by traditional canning methods in mason jars which will extend shelf life.
