Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup shortening

Preparation

Step 1

Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening.

Step 2

Beat eggs in milk. Add vanilla then add into dry ingredients and beat well.

Step 3

Roll dough 1/4 inch thick. Cut and bake on greased griddle. They will puff a little.
