Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 tsps cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

MIX flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda in medium bowl. Set aside.

Step 2

Beat 1 1/2 cups of sugar, butter and shortening in large bowl with mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.

Step 3

Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until well mixed. Refrigerate for 1 hour.

Step 4

MIX remaining 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon.

Step 5

Shape dough into 1 inch balls.

Step 6

Roll in cinnamon sugar mixture to coat. Place 2 inches apart on baking sheets.

Step 7

BAKE at 400F for 9-11 mins or until lightly browned.
