Ingredients

  • 12 oz (24 TB) unsalted butter warmed to room temp
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 6 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 TB plus 2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 2/3 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk.
  • FOR DIPPING
  • 8 oz ( 16 TB) unsalted butter melted
  • 2 TB ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Mix together sugar, butter and eggs. Mix flour baking powder, salt and nutmeg in another bowl. In a 3rd bowl mix milk and buttermilk. Add alternating, the milks and the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Bake in greased muffin pans at 350 degrees until just starting to brown.

Step 2

Remove muffins and dip in melted butter then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
