Ingredients

  • 1 lb schnitz
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 orange, rind and juice
  • 2 TB cinnamon
  • prepared pie crust

Preparation

Step 1

Cover schnitz with water and soak overnight.

Step 2

Add orange rind and juice and more water if needed. Boil until soft then putthrough collander and add sugar and cinnamon. Pour into pastry lined shell, dot with butter, cover with top crust or lattice strips.

Step 3

Bake in hot oven (450 degrees) for 10 minutes. Reduce to 350 degrees and bake for 30 minutes.
