This is a good Christmas dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup ground pecans
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • well drained maraschino cherries

Preparation

Step 1

Combine butter, icing sugar, flour, pecans and vanilla in a bowl. Mix first with a spoon then by hand to work it until it holds together.

Step 2

Completely cover maraschino cherries with dough. Shape into balls.

Step 3

Arrange on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Step 4

As soon as balls have cooled enough to handle, roll them in icing sugar.
