  • 1 pound ground chuck or round (optional)
  • 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 12 oz. water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/4 tsp.oregano
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of garlic powder

Preparation

Step 1

Brown meat and onion, add tomato paste and water, then seasonings of choice. Simmer, covered, 20 minutes. Simmer uncovered a little longer if you want the sauce thicker. Makes 2 cups. Serves 3-4.
