Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate squares

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter. Add sugar, eggs, cocoa, and vanilla.

Step 2

Combine flour and baking powder. Stir into chocolate mixture.

Step 3

Coarsely chip the chocolate squares, keeping large chunks. Stir chocolate into batter.

Step 4

Spread batter into an 8x8 inch-baking pan that is lightly greased. Bake at 350 F for 35-40 mins, or until a toothpick comes out barely moist. Cool in pan on a rack. Cut into squares and serve.

Delicious with a sprinkling of icing sugar on top.
