Ingredients
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup blueberries
- Sauce:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp flour
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Cream sugar and shortening, add egg and vanilla and mix. Alternate remaining dry ingredients with milk, stirring to mix completely. Fold in blueberries at the end. Pour into 9x9 greased baking dish and bake at 300' for 35-40 mins
Step 2
For the sauce, mix brown sugar, flour and salt together in a saucepan. Add boiling water and cook over low heat until thickened. Add butter and vanilla.
