Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz.) package frozen all-butter puff pastry, defrosted overnight in the fridge
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • a sprinkle of salt

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 F

Step 2

Cut your thawed puff pastry into 6 x 3 inch rectangles.

Step 3

Add chocolate in one third of the rectangle, forming two lines with the chocolate chips.

Step 4

Fold the side of the puff pastry over the third containing the chocolate, and flip the roll so that the seam is on the bottom facing the pan. If you leave the seam up, the puff pastry will burst open.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of water. Use a pastry brush to brush the egg mixture on top of the rolls. Sprinkle with a dash of salt.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or, until puffed and golden. When ready, cool for 5-10 minutes.
