Preparation

Step 1

Mix yeast, milk, flour, salt, oil and chopped fresh basil leaves. Mix for about 10 minutes using a electric beater and then knead dough until elastic and somewhat sticky.

Step 2

Form the dough into a ball with your hands and let rest in a bowl greased with oil and covered with plastic in a warm place (eg The oven at 25 ° C) for 1 hour or until it has tripled in volume.

Step 3

Preheat oven to 395 F. Lightly sprinkle your work surface with flour and divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Stretch and roll each portion to give it a rectangular shape and place a sausage in the middle. Roll the dough around to completely cover the sausage.

Step 4

Hot Dog Rings - Step 4

Cut each piece into slices a few inches wide, through all of the sausage but do not cut all the way through the dough. Turn each slice up to become visible and seal the ends (with wet fingers) to form a ring.

Step 5

Hot Dog Rings - Step 5

Put rings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with egg and sprinkle green onions on top. Grate or slice cheese and place over rings but not over the center.

Step 6

Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until crust is golden and the cheese melted.
