Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ¼ shortening
  • 1 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450°F.

Step 2

Stir together flour, baking powder and salt.

Step 3

Cut shortening into flour mixture with a pastry blender or two knives. Mixture should be crumbly.

Step 4

Stir in milk with fork. Stir just until mixture holds together and forms a ball.

Step 5

Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto non stick or greased baking sheet. Leave a 2" space between biscuits so they will brown nicely.

Step 6

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
