Ingredients
- 8 pieces semi-sweet chocolate
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, divided
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup boiling water

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°. Butter six 6-oz ramekins and place on baking sheet.
Step 2
Melt chocolate with butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let cool. Whisk milk with egg and vanilla. Set aside.
Step 3
Combine flour with 1/2 cup brown sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add egg mixture and stir until just combined. Add melted chocolate mixture and stir until smooth.
Step 4
Pour batter into ramekins, filling to 1/4" from top. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar over top. Spoon 2 tbsp boiling water over the sugar.
Step 5
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until puffed and slightly firm around edges.
