Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 onion, chopped finely
- 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 28 – 32 oz can of crushed or pureed tomatoes
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp dried parsley
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh basil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2-3 cups of skim or low fat milk

Preparation
Step 1
1. Saute the onion and garlic in the olive oil until it is translucent.
2. Add the tomatoes, baking soda, parsley and salt and pepper.
3. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes over medium low heat.
4. Add the honey and basil. Check and add more salt and pepper as needed.
I usually only add a cup to a cup and a half of milk since I like the consistency to be a bit thicker.
