Magic Cake- The Original!

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs (separate yolks from whites) at room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk lukewarm
  • powdered sugar for dusting cake

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325•
Prepare an 8x8" pan.
Sift flour.

Step 2

Beat egg whites until stiff, set aside,

Step 3

Beat egg yolks with sugar, until creamy. Beat in butter and vanilla. Add milk and flour, mix well. The batter will be very liquidy.

Step 4

Gently fold in the egg whites, fold in thoroughly.
Pore the batter into the prepared pan. And bake for 40-60 minutes. The sides should start pulling away slightly and the center may still wiggle.

Step 5

Allow it to cool and set completely. Cut into squares and dust with icing sugar.

The batter in this recipe resembles a crepe batter.
