Ingredients

  • 1 cup softened margarine
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 oz block of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp melted margarine
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Cream first amount of margarine and sugar in large bowl. Add cream cheese. Beat until well combined. Add egg and vanilla. Beat until smooth.

Step 2

Combine flour, soda and salt in med bowl. Add to margarine mixture in 2 additions, mixing well until no dry flour remains. Roll out dough between 2 sheets of waxed paper then discard top sheet of paper

Step 3

Brush second amount of margarine evenly on dough. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over top. Roll up tightly from long side jelly roll style and wrap with waxed paper. Chill for 6 hours or overnight. Discard waxed paper. Cut into 1/4 inch slices and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350' for 10-12 mins. Makes about 48 cookies
