  • 1 cup Shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups Flour
  • 2 t Cream of Tartar
  • 1 t Baking Soda
  • 1/2 t Salt

Preparation

Step 1

Mix together thoroughly shortening, sugar and eggs. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add all ingredients together and mix.

Step 2

Chill dough. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in mixture of 2 T Sugar and 2 t Cinnamon. Place about 2" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned but still soft. These cookies puff up at first and then flatten out with crinkled tops. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 min.
